WORLD OPTOMETRY DAY CELEBRATION AT AHALIA SCHOOL OF OPTOMETRY AND RESEARCH CENTRE
Ahalia School of Optometry and Research Centre (ASORC) celebrated World Optometry Day on 23rd March 2026 with active participation from students and faculty. The event, held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, was centered around this year’s global theme, “A Shared Vision: Collaboration in Global Eye Care.”
As part of the celebration, undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students of ASORC prepared a wide range of informative posters. These covered various eye diseases, the importance of regular eye screening, and other relevant topics in eye health and vision care. An exhibition showcasing these works was organized at Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital, where students effectively communicated their ideas and findings to visitors and patients.
Adding to the vibrancy of the event, students performed a flash mob and an awareness skit focused on the importance of eye screening. These performances were conducted at both Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital and at Home Centre Ground.
In addition, Ms. Sreevarshini, from first-year, Ms.Namitha Krishnan from second year and Sanasahla from third year B.Sc. Optometry students, represented ASORC in an inter-college quiz competition organized by the Optometry Confederation of India, marking a proud moment for the institution.
The programme was a grand success, reflecting the dedication, creativity, and collaborative spirit of ASORC students in promoting eye health awareness and contributing to the vision of global eye care.
