A delegation of students and faculty members from the Ahalia School of Optometry and Research Centre actively participated in VUE 2K26, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program organized by the Little Flower Institution of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Angamaly on 09-05-2026 at Adlux Medicity & Convention Center, Angamaly, Kochi
The academic event brought together optometry professionals, clinicians, researchers, and students to explore emerging trends and advancements in the field of optometry and vision science. The CME featured a series of insightful scientific sessions, workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at enhancing clinical knowledge and professional skills.
The program commenced with the session titled “Rewiring Vision – Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation,” which included expert talks on binocular vision in neurological disorders, clinical diagnosis and management of binocular dysfunction, and principles of neuro-optometric rehabilitation. The sessions were delivered by distinguished speakers including Ms. Anu Chacko, Dr. Meena C K, and Dr. Aditya Goyal.
The event also highlighted advancements in myopia management and irregular cornea care under the session “Precision in Practice – Irregular Cornea Management. Topics such as practical diagnosis using slit lamp and topography, non-surgical management strategies, and multifaceted approaches to contact lens dispensing were discussed by experts including Mr. Premjit Bhakat, Mr. Gagan Sahni, and Ms. Isha Dave.
Another important segment of the CME, “Beyond Boundaries – The Future of Optometry,focused on expanding opportunities in clinical practice, academics, research, and entrepreneurship in optometry. The session encouraged aspiring optometrists to explore diverse career pathways and innovations in the profession.
A hands-on workshop on Scleral Contact Lens and Orthokeratology provided participants with valuable practical exposure to advanced contact lens technologies and fitting techniques.
