IEDC ORIENTATION

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) Orientation Programme was conducted on 15 July 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Lecture Hall 1 for the first-year BSc Optometry students. The session was organized and facilitated by the IEDC Executive Committee (EXCOM) members of Ahalia School of Optometry and Research Centre with the aim of introducing students to the IEDC ecosystem and encouraging them to cultivate an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset to introduce students to the objectives, activities, and opportunities offered by the IEDC.

The programme began with a warm welcome to the participants, followed by an overview of the vision and mission of the IEDC. IEDC Executive Committee members highlighted how the IEDC supports aspiring innovators by providing mentorship, technical guidance, networking opportunities, and access to various workshops, hackathons, and startup initiatives. The orientation also encouraged students to think creatively, identify real-world problems, and work towards developing innovative solutions.
