SPORTS DAY “DHRUVAM 2K25”

On August 8th, Ahalia School of Optometry and Research Centre (ASORC) came alive with energy and enthusiasm as it celebrated the 79th Independence Day through an engaging array of sports events held at Ahalia ground. The day was marked by a grand inauguration led by our Vice Principal, Ms. Preetha Balaji who ignited the Olympic torch and passed it ceremoniously to the Sports Secretary, Ms. Gayathry followed by March-past. This symbolic act heralded the start of a day dedicated to athleticism, teamwork, and spirit.

The students were divided into four houses namely Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz. Each house showcased their competitive spirit across a variety of events. The sports activities included: Indoor games like Carroms and Chess and Outdoor games like Running Race(100m, 200m) for Boys and Girls, Skipping race for girls, walking race for girls and boys, Long Jump, Penalty Shootout for girls, Mixed Relay. As the events drew to a close, the culmination of the day’s activities was marked by a prize distribution ceremony. Winners of each event were awarded medals and certificates, celebrating their achievements and contributions to their houses. The award ceremony was a highlight, recognizing the dedication, skill, and sportsmanship of the participants.

The sports events at Ahalia School of Optometry and Research Centre were a fitting tribute to the 79th Independence Day, embodying the values of unity, perseverance, and pride. The day not only provided a platform for athletic excellence but also fostered a strong sense of community and school spirit among students.
